Jul 24-30: Lesson 111: Dvesa (Aversion)
Yoga Psychology has identified five afflictions of the mind. One of them is Aversion. The most relevant and useful aspect of this klesa is that we can utilize it's force. When we experience aversion or dislike or hatred or irritation, we can harness that energy and channel it in the direction of our higher self, toward love and connection with others.
I have found this to be so difficult at times that I liken it to what it would take to end war between people. The effort to pull our ego back from aversion and transmute hatred into peace is truly amazing...it brings healing to our heart and, little by little, peace to all the corners of the world.
Be the change you wish to see in the world. Gandhi's words ring as true now as ever.
