Muladhara (First Chakra)
May 1-7: Lesson 58: Muladhara (First Chakra)
“Come home” to YogaLife
You might be surprised to know how many times I walk into the studio, see a familiar yoga student, and listen to them tell me with great gratitude and love in their eyes, “YogaLife is like my second home”.
What does it mean to feel “at home”? This question is one we will explore in our classes this week as we continue to study the chakras or energy centers of the body. This week’s focus is on the root chakra—the legs and feet—and also the idea of feeling grounded, rooted, connected, safe, protected, and at home.
Perhaps the phrase “Home is where the heart is” comes to mind. Our yoga students feel at home not only because of the beautiful space we now call our studio. They feel at home because the teachings of Yoga guide us toward that place within us that feels connected, safe and, perhaps, deeply loved and “okay”. The sharing of ideas and practice with like minded community further facilitates this feeling that we are not only “alright” but perfectly imperfect amidst other souls walking a similar journey.
We look forward to having you with us, and to creating an environment in which you feel safe and at ease regardless of your physical ability, beliefs, preferences, etc. You may come ready to talk, or come and be silent. It is always your choice and you are welcome.
