Graduate Biographies
|
Karen Batchelder, RYT500, is a graduate of the YogaLife Institute’s 200-hour and 500-hour Classical Yoga Teacher Training programs. She is also certified in the Usui System Reiki tradition. Karen began her yoga journey in 1998 as a method to alleviate anxiety. She discovered that yoga provided not only stress relief, but a series of tools and life lessons that help with anxiety and so much more. She teaches gentle yoga at the Blue Moon in Exeter and aspires to help others who seek relief from anxiety by integrating these tools and personal discoveries into her yoga classes. She creates a welcoming and supportive environment for students to experience this beautiful practice of yoga.

Libbie Bridge, RYT is a graduate of the Yoga Life Institute's 200-hour Classical Yoga Teacher Training Program. She is certified through the Yoga Alliance and continues her studies in the 500-hour program. For Libbie, Yoga is a lifelong journey. It has helped her to become more present, more patient, and better able to accept things as they are. In her classes and off the mat, Libbie hopes to provide a space for students to tune in to their own truths. |
Jamie Brown, MA, C.A.G.S., RYT, was first introduced to the Vinyasa style of yoga in 2003 and continues to use her daily practice as a guide for authentic and mindful living. She graduated from the 200 Classical Yoga training in 2009 and is currently enrolled in the 500 level as well as the meditation training program led by Julie Rost and Dr. Robert Butera. Aside from teaching yoga, she is an avid environmentalist, slow-food supporter, and is passionate about cooking, fitness, riding horses, and spending time with family. She has lived both internationally and in multiple places around the US and is also a guest research contributor for non-profit environmental and humanitarian foundations in New England. |
Joy Bryan Markley, Ph.D., RYT500, is a graduate of the Yogalife Institute's 200 Level and 500 Level teacher training programs as well as the meditation training program at Blue Moon Yoga with Julie Rost. She is also trained to teach yoga to kids and writes a column for YogaLifeNH called Little Buddhas http://www.yogalifenh.com/philosophy/little-buddhas. Teaching a child-friendly version of Classical Yoga to young yogis between the ages of 6 and 10 has become the perfect way for Joy to share what she has learned in her yoga studies with others. She continues her studies in the area of restorative yoga and yoga therapy. Her brother recently bought her a mirror to put in her office. Around the frame it reads, "You can be anything you want to be...be yourself." That pretty much sums up Joy's philosophy in yoga and in life. Lisa Burk-McCoy RYT500, is a graduate of the YogaLife Institute's 200 and 500 hour YogaLife Institute Classical Yoga teacher training programs. She also holds children's yoga certifications from ChildLight Yoga and Itsy Bitsy Yoga, and is a certified prenatal yoga instructor. Lisa's work includes yoga instruction for adults, children and private clients; facilitation of ChildLight Yoga summer yoga camps; and business consulting for several yoga organizations. When not practicing yoga, she dabbles as a musician, playing flute in a local contra-dance band and teaching classical flute lessons to children and adults. She is blessed with a wonderful family–a husband, son and daughter, and a menagerie of pets. They make their home in Exeter, NH. |
Nicolle Casey, RYT500, is a graduate of the 200-hour and 500-hour Classical Yoga Teacher Training program. Her healing and spiritual journeys have also led her to become trained in Reiki & Somatic Respiratory Integration (breath work associated with Network Chiropractic care). Nicolle's approach is to integrate the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga into daily living. She resides in Stratham with her Husband and two children.
