Gentle: Follows the same course as Yoga I, but focuses on modified poses and a gentle approach for relaxation. You are encouraged to practice at your own pace and listen to your body. New students always welcomed.
This class is for the "beginners mind," whether you are brand new to Yoga, desire a simple pace, or would like to return to the fundamentals of Yoga. Class includes basic pose alignment, and a variety of breathing, relaxation and meditation practices. In Classical Yoga style, each class begins with a brief sharing of Yoga philosophy, creating a simple theme for each class. These offerings help the Yoga student understand the holistic science of Yoga, and how to bring it into our daily lives and everyday actions.
Karen creates a safe and supportive environment for her students, with an emphasis on quieting the mind with the breath, and a long relaxation at the end of class. Leave your worries at the door and join this welcoming group.
Karen is a graduate of the YogaLife Institute's 200 and 500-hour Classical Yoga Teacher Training programs and Level 1 of the Comprehensive Yoga Therapy training. She is also certified in the Usui System Reiki tradition. Karen began her yoga journey in 1998 as a method to alleviate anxiety. She discovered that yoga provided not only stress relief, but a series of tools and life lessons that help with anxiety and so much more. She aspires to help others who seek relief from anxiety by integrating these tools and personal discoveries into her gentle yoga classes where relaxation is a focal point. She creates a welcoming and supportive environment for students to experience this beautiful practice.
