Yoga II - Hatha Flow

Thursday, October 11, 2018, 09:00am - 10:30am

Carter Siegel

Carter’s “Hatha Flow II” class links breath and movement. The practitioner flows through a series of postures that open the spine, heat the body, and lengthen and strengthen the muscles. Flow practice can be akin to a moving meditation where the body is warmed, energy flows, and as a result the mind calms. Flow practice differs from traditional Hatha Yoga in that sun salutations are used between the postures and there is a rhythmic pattern to the sequence of postures.

Carter’s teaching style is firmly grounded in logical sequencing with attention to clear cues and modifications. This practice will tune the student in to the physical, energetic and mental aspects through postures, breath work, and meditation. All classes begin with a brief orientation in setting intention and brief discussion on the philosophical foundation of the practice. This is a Yoga II class and as such, the pace is a bit more challenging than Yoga I. Having some knowledge of Sun Salutations would be helpful. Come explore your practice in a flowing style that rejuvenates and promotes a peaceful and clear mind. We will have time for movement and breath, and then the restorative sweetness of stillness.
