Yoga for a Quiet Mind
“When there is silence, one finds the anchor of the universe within oneself” Tao
Guided by pure intention we will explore movement and postures that support calming the mind. A long warm-up will release muscle tension and create comfort as it increases range of motion for joint health. Simple movement linked to breath creates meditation in motion; quieting the mind as it establishes focused breathing. Brief holdings in classical poses will allow time for exploration and build strength and flexibility gradually. Balance poses improve concentration, developing balance in the mind and body. Props and modifications will be offered honoring the body’s wisdom. Relaxation, a time of restful awareness, will be followed by a brief meditation. Closing our practice with a few moments of stillness creates deep peace.
