Yoga I - Gentle Flow
In Gentle Flow we align breath awareness with fluid movement for a calm mind, strong body and resilient spirit.
This class will take a "beginners mind" approach and explore various aspects of flowing in and out of basic classical yoga poses; whether you are brand new to yoga or desire a simple pace, you will appreciate this fundamental approach. Each class begins with a brief sharing of yoga philosophy, creating a simple theme for each class. These offerings help the student understand the holistic science of yoga, and how to bring it into our daily lives and everyday actions.
Possible topics draw from yogic texts as well as the experience of teachers and students, including the healing benefits of yoga to body, mind, and spirit; the daily practice; mindfulness; ethical behavior; nutrition and cleansing; positive thinking; mastery of our thoughts; energy work and enlightenment.
You are encouraged to go at your own pace and listen to your body.
Deborah Sisson, RYT
Deborah Sisson received her teacher training with the Yoga Life Institute and is currently enrolled in the 500 hour program. She has participated in a wide range of practice styles from traditions which reflect her love of dance, literature, and philosophy. In her classes she tries to nourish the authentic body that resides in the physical body. Deborah loves sharing the many gifts of yoga including postures, breathing, balance, strength, concentration, and meditation. She finds inspiration in nature and all its elements, beings, and miracles. Come, she says, let's practice together.
