Yoga for Men
A unique opportunity for guys to discover yoga without the added pressures, fears and stereotypes that are often associated with being in a yoga class.
This class focuses on yoga for men of any level of experience and/or physical shape, providing a safe and healthy environment where guys can explore the benefits of yoga. Studies suggest practicing yoga can lower heart rate and blood pressure, relieve anxiety, depression, and insomnia, as well as improve overall strength and flexibility.
In a relaxed atmosphere we will practice various yoga postures, breathing, relaxation and meditation with emphasis on gently improving flexibility and balance in body and mind.
Som Kovvuri, RYT 500, is certified with the Yoga Alliance and is a graduate of the YogaLife Institute of NH’s 200-hour and 500-hour Classical Yoga Teacher Training Programs. He began his Yoga practice in earnest after attending a training program at the Gandhi Gyan Mandir in Hyderabad, India in the early 80’s. The discovery of the YogaLife Institute of NH's Teacher Training Program expanded his understanding of both physical and spiritual aspects of classical Yoga and promoted a spirit of inquiry and self-discovery. Som is a Biomedical Engineer and is thankful for the opportunity to serve patients through his various roles in the medical device industry.
