Cancer survivors and caregivers are welcome to participate in these free classes. No yoga experience is necessary and classes are free to all participants newly diagnosed, in cancer treatment or recovery as well as caregivers. Classes will include yoga postures, flowing movements and pranayama (focus on breath) to help students achieve relaxation and mobility in everyday life. Conscious effort to link breath with movement helps relieve tension and helps students gain flexibility and improve strength in the body.
Funding for Classes is provided by SATYA. SATYA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization. Our mission is to support teachers who are inspired and committed to providing specialized yoga instruction in under-served populations, to provide resources which link qualified instructors to aspiring yogis in a variety of settings with unique considerations, and to honor the many truths of yoga and its power to support the mind, body and spirit in all human beings.
